Emulation

I will try to discuss what emulators and ROMs are. If you want to try to write a emulator, I suggest my programming page. It has detailed information on the hardware of many systems.

Emulator:

A emulator does just what it says. It emulates, or acts, like the original thing. In this case, we are talking about gaming systems, like Super Nintendo, Game Boy, etc. The emulator is a complicated program made just to run ROMs. Trust me, it's complicated! But anyway, you use a emulator to run your games, or ROMs.

ROMs:

ROMs are the games, and they are taken from the original system and transferred to a computer with special hardware. You can then use the ROM like a cartridge. Except this is all electronic so you load the ROM into the Emulator through its Menus. Check the emulators texts to figure out how to do it.
